The figure in the right shows the life cycle assessment and environmental impact of my design in comparison to the Logitech pure Fi express. The website which is Sustainable Minds looks into the materials and processes used in manufacture, and how the product is disposed off to determine its impact on the environment. The Harley dock did 4 times worst on impact assessment and 71% worst ecologicaly compared to the Logitech dock. This comes as no surprise due to the use of Aluminum and the extra weight of the components used on the Harley. The frame of the Harley dock is manufactured by die casting 2nd grade aluminum and weighs 145g each, while the aluminum cast rods are also energy draining to produce. |   |
Bill Of Materials
The bill of materials show all materials and processes used in the design. Most of the injected molded plastics are ABS based while the housing for the tech packs are made of polycarbonate for better electrical and heat resistance.
